Cowichan Lake Visitor Centre

It may still be a little snowy, but the gorgeous views from Bald Mountain make the hike more than worth it. Our most popular hike, Bald Mountain offers a range of trails with varying degrees of difficulty and a spectacular view of the lake. The Plateau Loop has a great view and takes a little over an hour. Doing the Plateau Loop and the Summit Trail combined takes about 3 hours.

Location: about a ten minute drive from Lake Cowichan in the Meades Creek/Marble Bay area.

Directions from the Cowichan Lake Visitor Centre: At our stop sign, turn left onto South Shore Road (the main road). Follow this road over the car bridge. At the roundabout, turn left onto North Shore Road. Follow this road until you see Meades Creek Road on the left. Turn left down Meades Creek Road and continue following until you cross a small bridge. Turn left onto Marble Bay Road. This will take you into a new development area with new houses. The trail head and gravel parking lot will be on your right near the end of the road. You can also access part of the trail from the Inuksuk at the start of the Woodland Shores development area, although the parking is better at the lot with the map of the trail.
